Our thoughts shape our reality and our life is a pure manifestation of the way we think.
We can consciously make an effort to think positive and something happens and we lose sight.
To think positive with consistency requires some training. We not only have to be conscious of our thoughts and self talk and also train our unconscious mind to be set differently.
Have you ever heard that a habit can be changed in 21 days? Well, this is because after 21 days it is set in the unconscious mind.
Extensive research has been conducted on the power of positive thinking so if you want some data, it is available!
Here are some examples:
I would love to say that we are naturally really positive, however one of my twin boys was born with more fear than the other one and I work with him a lot since he can express himself.
We seem to come on earth with some luggage…
Our language is very powerful and observing it is the key. To do so, we have to learn to slow our mind that loves to over–think.
Slowing the mind is really important. It is an exercise that requires a little discipline, especially at the start.
I started my Mindfulness journey by picking a few key moments during my day where I would make sure I was present. Doing the dishes, brushing my teeth and showering were my key moments to be in the now. Water was my trigger.
Once it became a habit, I could add more and more moments during my day.
Being in the NOW or MINDFUL, allows us to be conscious of your thoughts and catch them. Catching our thoughts becomes much easier when the mind is slower.
Once my mind has slowed down, I can observe my thoughts and when they are negative, I simply replace them with their positive version.
At the very start it does not seem easy or natural to replace a self talk such as “you look really stupid right now” with a “you are great and doing good, keep going!” Or a “oh gosh you look awful!” while watching yourself in the mirror with a “you look beautiful!”
Fake it until you make it because with time and discipline, you will learn to become your very best friend!
3- OBSERVE HOW OTHER FACTORS AFFECT YOUR THOUGHTS
The more time you spend in observing your thoughts, the better you become at being conscious. See how certain food or certain things your do affect your thought process.
Have fun with it because each time you can catch yourself being negative is a WIN! So reward yourself and remember that you are amazing and working on this is the best thing you can do for humanity right now!
Everything we want to manifest in the world has to start from inside us, so the more you cultivate from within, the greater is your gift for others!
